Preschool

Our preschool classrooms are divided into two classrooms. We have a Pre-K3 classroom that includes children that are at least 3 years of age and potty trained. There are 22 children in the classroom and three teachers in Pre-K3. In Pre-K4, we have 17 children and two teachers. 

At Sweet Peas Learning Center, we have carefully chosen our curriculum to facilitate appropriate child development while allowing for individual interests and abilities. We supplement our program by using the child’s background knowledge and by providing age-appropriate experiences to challenge children with new and interesting material. We also utilize the Abeka program to facilitate the learning experience of the children with Bible-based Christian beliefs and teachings, all while providing important early exposure to letters and numbers. Appropriate peer interactions and self-help skills are promoted through monitored periods of free play and outdoor play.

Lead Teachers

The lead teacher in Pre-K3 is Miss Shyann King and the lead teacher in Pre-K4 is Mrs. Leah Morgan. 

Miss Shyann has been with SPLC for 4 years. She was awarded her TCC in Early Childhood Education in 2021 and completed her associates in 2023. She also holds current CPR/First Aid certification. 

Mrs. Leah has been with SPLC for 11 years. She was awarded her associates in Early Childhood Education in 2021 and has completed over 100 hours of training. She also hold current CPR/First Aid certification. She has been married for 9 years and loves children of all ages.

When love is at the core of their education, children will flourish beyond what we ever thought possible. My goal is to have a loving bond with every child who comes through my classroom that they can carry with them throughout their life.”
